Critical care medicine deals with seriously or critically ill patients who have or are at risk of potentially life threatening conditions and need continuous monitoring.
The team of MSH Kasba critical care unit constitutes a devoted team of anaesthesiology, medicine and surgical intensivists, experienced and trained medical staffs (in 2:1 patient-staff ratio), respiratory physiotherapists backed up by Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, General surgery, Gyanecology and Paediatrics department.
Our critical care unit rooms are well equipped with advanced monitor and ventilator system and closely supervised with stringent infection control and isolation guidelines.
Currently, we have Medical and surgical intensive care unit, Coronary care unit and Neonatal intensive care unit .Soon, paediatric intensive care unit will also be established for critical paediatric patients.

High Dependency Unit(HDU)

  • We have a specially staffed and equipped area of a hospital that provides a level of care intermediate between intensive care and the general ward care located within or immediately adjacent to an ICU complex. The HDU provides invasive monitoring and support for patients with or at risk of developing acute (or acute-on-chronic) single-organ failure, particularly where the predicted risk of clinical deterioration is high or unknown. It acts as a ‘step-up’ or ‘step-down’ unit between the level of care delivered on a general ward and that in an ICU. All the services for ICU are also provided in HDU facility.
